Kayshen Morel, LPC

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. There is something deeply vulnerable about sitting in front of a new person and allowing yourself to be fully seen, especially in the parts of your life that feel painful and difficult to look at. My role is not to judge or fix you, but to meet you in your humanity with warmth and curiosity while creating a space where you can feel supported, gently challenged, and empowered toward growth and change.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Much of my work centers around helping people better understand their protective patterns they carry, reconnect with themselves more authentically, and build a more compassionate relationship with their emotions and inner world.

My approach integrates DBT, ACT, mindfulness, somatic work, and parts-based interventions, with a strong focus on shadow work and identifying shame-based core beliefs. I’m especially passionate about grief work and helping clients navigate the messiness of healing while fostering a greater innate sense of self-trust.

As a first-generation Latino therapist, I deeply value creating affirming and culturally responsive spaces where clients from marginalized or historically unseen backgrounds feel genuinely safe, understood, and respected. I also strive to bring humor and my authentic self into the therapy self, believing that meaningful healing often happens through genuine human connection. Outside of therapy, I enjoy dancing, running, playing video games, and watching anime. I value connecting with clients through shared interests and believe those moments help foster a stronger therapeutic relationship.
